The diseases caused by Helminths, Arthropods and Protozoons are diagnosed by using standard tests of Office International Des Epizooties (OIE).

The information on the treatment and prevention methods of diagnosed disease is given to the Vets and breeders.

The diseases caused by Varroa jocabsoni, Nosema apis, Acarapis woodi and Braula  coeca in honeybees and Galleria mellonella and Achroia grisella in honey combs are diagnosed.

Fish and sea products are examined for parasitic diseases.

Dourine and Proplasmosis in horses are serologically diagnosed by using Complement Fixation Test (CFT).

Researches related to the parasitic and honeybee diseases are carried aut in collaborating with Universities and the other institutes. The Projects “National Ruam Project” and “Research on the Presence and distribution of Dourine in horses” are recently finished. The project “Researches on Suspensed cell culture vaccine against tropical theileriosis in cattle” is continued.

Training courses on parasitic diseases, honeybee and fish parazites are given to Vets, staff working at the other institutes and breeders.

Laboratory Staff
